Golden, BC

The BC School of Log Building is located in the friendly mountain town of Golden, British Columbia on the Alberta, BC border. We are fortunate to be surrounded by National parks and outdoor adventure including world renowned hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, and camping. Golden is aptly situated on a historic watershed and surrounded by 6 National Parks and a protected wetlands. The British Columbia School of Log Building is 15 minutes west of the town with inspiring mountain vistas and easy access from the TransCanada Highway.

Opportunity for recreational adventure will inspire you while you are staying in Golden and have a day off from your course or an evening to explore your surroundings. Take a quick jaunt to thrilling Thompson Falls up the Blaeberry Valley or magical visit to the Giant Cedars in nearby Rogers Pass and Glacier National Park. Emerald Lake and Takakkaw Falls in nearby Yoho National Park or Lake Louise and Moraine Lake in Banff National Park are also day trip options. Radium Hotsprings in Invermere is a local favorite to sooth muscles after a strenuous day. All of these options are within an hour of the BC School of Log Building.
Directly from our log yard, a drive up the historic Big Bend highway will take you to Kimbasket Lake for water recreation and BC rec site camping. Shorter visits to the nearby Wolf Centre or the Buffalo Ranch in the Blaeberry Valley could fill your evenings and weekends. While skiing and mountain biking are some of our most popular recreational sports you can also enjoy horseback Riding, white water rafting, and canoeing and fishing in the Blaeberry , Kicking Horse or Columbia Rivers.

Cabins and Lodges

There are many private cabins and lodges located in the area surrounding Golden.  Check the proximity to our log yard before booking, (most will know where our yard is in Donald BC).  The rural area between the town of Golden and Donald BC is called the Blaeberry Valley, named after the Blaeberry River. This is the best area to look for a cabin as it is within 10 minutes of our log yard.
